The VIP program provides a quality soccer experience for children (ages 5-15) with special needs that make it difficult to successfully participate on mainstream sports teams. VIP teams include those that are: blind or visually impaired, have impaired mobility, are mentally or emotionally challenged, autistic or have Down syndrome or Cerebral Palsy.
We encourage all our VIP players to have fun, learn what they can absorb about teamwork and fair play, increase their self esteem, become more physically fit and to meet and be comfortable with new people.
They are escorted on the field by buddies. Buddies help guide players on the field during their session, some buddies become lifelong friends, which gives them a tremendous feeling of satisfaction. Buddies and volunteers in the program increase their understanding of individuals with special needs. Their lives are all greatly enriched.
Some parents think they could never see their child playing a sport or making new friends. The VIP program gives them joy and hope. They relax and enjoy watching as their children or adult has fun with others, perhaps for the first time.
VIP allows our community special needs children to have the benefit of sports participation in a supportive, fun environment.
